Great app, great idea but there a lot of gatekeeping

I think the developers need to give themselves a pat on the back. It’s a great app, easy UI, and it’s mostly free to use unless there’s paid events where bookings are required and this makes making friends really accessible for many young people. My only major feedback would be to ensure the app has clear guidelines on open groups and closed groups. Many social events or groups become entirely inaccessible because they are only catered to one gender (mostly women) and can feel like gatekeeping preventing people to meet other people they usually wouldn’t regardless of who they are. There was an event where I was allowed in but someone else I know was not even when there were spaces available. The organisers have too much power to pick and choose who they allow into their event. Instead of creating an inclusive space, this can create a discriminatory environment due to unconscious biases or conscious discrimination against people of colour, lgbtq+ and many different intersectionalities. I know I am not the only one who believes this. Therefore, while the app has a solid foundation, this issue needs to be addressed otherwise people will become frustrated and leave.
