Your questions, answered.
Butter charges a booking fee for every paid ticket. This fee consists of a platform fee and a service fee, which varies based on the type of event owner. You can view these pricing details at the top of this page. The remaining ticket price goes to the event owner to cover their fees.
If you're running a free event, you can do so through Butter without incurring any booking fees. Request an invite here to get started.
-
Transparent pricing: We display the total you pay (including platform/service fees and GST) at checkout - no surprises.
-
Currency: All amounts are in Australian Dollars (AUD). International cards may incur extra bank or conversion charges.
-
Ticket fees: Hosts set ticket prices. Butter adds platform and service fees (8.60% + 30c per paid ticket) for ticketed events, which are displayed at checkout.
-
Tips: Optional and voluntary. Butter deducts platform and service fees from the amount you send. Tips are final and non-refundable unless required by law.
-
Taxes: Prices include GST where required; otherwise, you'll see a GST-free indicator at checkout.
-
Refunds & fees: Service and processing fees are non-refundable (except as required by law). Refunds for cancelled or rescheduled events follow our Refund Policy.
-
Promos & credits: Must be applied during checkout; can't be redeemed for cash or applied retroactively.
-
Price changes & errors: Hosts may adjust pricing before purchase. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and refund affected orders.
-
Third-party charges: Any international or FX fees are charged by your bank, not Butter.
-
Host payouts: Hosts receive ticket sales after Butter's fees and applicable taxes.
-
